Pictures at Garance Doré
How I wish I would have had these pictures when my grandmother had cancer! She was a very eclectic, eccentric person – fur coats in Texas, lots of shiny diamonds . . . well, perhaps that’s not so eccentric considering that Dallas was a popular show at the time:) Anyway, when she lost her hair, we tried to tell her that a turban or a scarf would be fashionably French. I don’t think she really believed us, but she looked beautiful all the same. She had a great hat head and face, and she taught me that matching isn’t always fashionable – much to the current dismay of my husband who reprimands me for wearing a brown belt with black shoes;)
